Scissor Hounds Dog Salon
Scissor Hounds Dog Salon was established in July 2022. Aiming to give dogs a stylish, luxury and clean environment to hang out before, during and after their groom. We have plenty of space which means we don’t have to use crates. If dogs don’t need to be separated they can explore our salon, take a nap on our sofa in the adjoining staff room or even make use of our secure and fenced outdoor area. We have a large holding pen in our main groom area for dogs that prefer to relax, watch the groomers work and wait for their owners.
Our reception area is built for people. We believe that you, Dog’s best friend, deserve a touch of luxury too. Feel free to wait for your dog on our comfy sofa, browse our canine books, watch the world go by and even check on your dog’s progress through our salon viewing window
Scissor Hounds Staff
Our talented manager Joseph has 5 years experience grooming dogs in Worthing, completed an intensive grooming course at the South Coast Grooming Academy, gained City and Guilds L2 and L3 qualifications from Chichester College – Brinsbury Campus, and has competed in numerous grooming competitions all over the UK taking home awards for best potential, all-round groomer and best technique with more competitions lined up for 2022 / 23.
Joseph grew up in Cebu, Philippines. His family moved to the city when he was still in high school and for a while he had to stay on his own to finish his studies. Seeing the number of hungry stray dogs and finding himself newly alone in an empty house, Joseph started to welcome dogs into his home, cleaning and bathing them, treating their mange, skin conditions and parasites, removing matted fur, sharing his food, and eventually accumulating up to18 rescue dogs.
After moving to the UK in 2016 Joseph pursued his passion for caring for dogs and after learning that he could surround himself with dogs all day every day as a job, began his career as a dog groomer.
Joseph has since been offered the role of brand ambassador to one of our preferred suppliers for grooming products, Clipit Grooming after being spotted due to his scissor work at a grooming competition in March 2023.
